Building on a longstanding history of academic excellence, Dr. Francisco Garcini is a cum laude graduate of Boston College, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then attended Boston University, where he received a Master of Arts in Biochemistry. Dr. Francisco Garcini next returned to Boston College and completed a doctorate in Molecular Biology. During his doctoral studies, he earned two separate Teaching Excellence Awards. Relocating to Florida to pursue a medical degree, Dr. Garcini attended the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. Again recognized for his dedication to academics, he gained admittance to the prestigious Iron Arrow Society.
Next, as a Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas in Houston, Dr. Francisco Garcini earned recognition as a first-year Resident and as a Chief Resident, where he was awarded not only Best Chief Resident designation, but also Best Teaching Resident.
Today, Dr. Francisco Garcini is an experienced gynecologic surgeon with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery techniques, including laparoscopic gynecologic surgery, robotic-assisted laparoscopy, hysteroscopic surgery, and endometrial ablation. He recently completed requirements to become a North American Menopause Society (NAMS) Certified Menopause Practitioner, and maintains privileges at Silver Cross Hospital and Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.
As a medical professional, Dr. Francisco Garcini participates in a number of organizations. He is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and the American Medical Association. Dr. Garcini also holds membership in the Illinois Medical Society and the Will-Grundy Medical Society. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG).
